How Automobiles Work

Ahn Cheol-soo visited the conservative stronghold
of Gyeongsangnam-do province, the home of Korea’s biggest port city, Busan. The People’s Party presidential hopeful emphasized
his plans to foster new growth engines for the fourth industrial revolution. Song Ji-sun is following the software mogul’s
campaign for us. “This is Ulsan, a seaside metropolitan in
the nation’s southeast, the industrial heart of Korea. And it’s this green car tech center that
presidential candidate Ahn Cheol-soo chose as his campaign stop on Friday. What they do here is… developing hydrogen
and electric cars, mapping out the future of the automobile industry. It’s a sector that the IT mogul-turned-presidential
hopeful hopes to give extra boost as the nation preps for the fourth industrial revolution.” Meeting with engineers here, Ahn said innovation
is happening at the speed of light… and that Korea must act fast to catch up with
the global leaders in the industry… part of the multifaceted fourth industrial revolution. “The auto sector is the most symbolic industry
in the fourth industrial revolution as it is a convergence of elements that go beyond
the boundaries of technology and design… across companies as well. It’s a sector that requires an all-out nationwide
interest.” Ahn said the industry in Ulsan, currently
based on combustion-engine vehicles, must transform itself into a future-oriented R&D
complex… and that the government must back the process by financing the infrastructure
for intellectual property, big data and software. “It is urgent to set up an infrastructure
for future vehicles. It’s something the next president should not
waste a second… upon taking office. We are running out of time.” Ahn also met with members of the public on
Ulsan’s busiest street… in an attempt to win the support of the nation’s conservative
voters… trumpeting that he is the one who can best prepare this country for the future. “We need a president who can create jobs and
growth for the next twenty years. I will start creating jobs and future industries
right here in Ulsan I will make Ulsan the biggest city for hydrogen cars in the world.” He will continue his campaign in Busan this
evening, and in Changwon on Saturday… to wrap up his trip in Gyeongsangnam-do Province. Song Ji-sun, Arirang News.
