Hey welding friends, welcome to HDB Schweißshop what are we doing today? We will, as you can see, working on a floor pan respectively a car sill. we will remove rusty parts professionally correct for the MOT we will show you with which tools we are working, some tips and tricks and I have great support behind the cam, thanks Joachim, he will go with me today. You can be excited, I hope this video will help you see you soon so guys, unfortunately I couldn’t manage to get us a whole car on the table although it would be possible That’s why Joachim got me a floor pan from a donor car We will firstly take a look where it mostly starts to rust. In most cases it beginns at the start or the end, in this area or that zone. Imagine splashing water getting in here, stowing and then it starts to rust. Our part here is comparatively healthy, which doesn’t mean it will be easier because, if you will fix this you need to cut into the healthy parts. So we have the same conditions and will work in this position, because you can not easily flip a car on the roof. So we are working on a “real” car and now we mark the rusty parts rust If the rust went up the edge we will have to repair it too. Here, it’s not the case this means we can cut out the marked part and keep the edge for stability. That means I will cut out this whole part We don’t have to forget, that we cut out this little edge In a car factory, these sheets will be connected with spot welding or resistance welding. These are all spots which we can either drill out or drag and then we can remove the metal plate when we have cut it out. The problem is if I turn around the sheet we can not record it very well because of the light thats why we have to do it in this position Look rust too here look, lots of rust in here we have lightly cut the spots which was enough to remove the sheet its important not to distort the bottom sheet Removing paint and all the rusty parts is important to obtain a bare area so we can weld properly. We will edit this part with zinc spray for sure, so there is no chance for rust Now we are going to cut the replacement sheet in the right size we need 40 centimeters We could have done this with metal shears but with this tool it’s very easy. Now we are edging the sheet, we need 20mm for the bottom edge, using our bending machine and curve it correctly.
